About the Huskies Food Pantry

The Huskies Food Pantry supports learning, wellness, and student retention by providing free nutritious food options and self-care/hygiene items for St. Cloud State University students. All current St. Cloud State students are welcome. While the Huskies Food Pantry is not able to serve as a grocery store or supply enough to meet all weekly student needs, we are here to support students so they may fully contribute to the campus and community. We will be open during select days and hours as indicated below. We offer a variety of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food items, along with frozen prepared meals (meat and vegetarian). What we have in stock changes weekly.

Our major partner is a 501c3 non-profit humanitarian organization, Hope for the Community. We are primarily stocked by purchases from our regional food bank partner Second Harvest Heartland. Pantry operations are housed in the Division of Student Affairs -Department of Campus Involvement and supported by student workers and volunteers from our campus community. Visit our Ways to Give page to learn how to contribute.

If your needs are greater than what the Huskies Food Pantry can provide, there are a variety of local resources within one to two miles of campus to assist you. Catholic Charities Emergency Services food shelf as well as the Salvation Army food pantry offer a variety of fresh and frozen foods. If you live outside of the St. Cloud area, you can visit the Hunger Solutions food shelf database to search for food resources near you. You may also be eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. If you want to see if you may be eligible for SNAP benefits, take the SNAP Eligibility Screening Survey. The screening survey is available to current registered students and requires log-in with your Office 365 account (starid@go.minnstate.edu and StarID password)
