The Department of Biological Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in biological disciplines that prepare students for a variety of careers and professional degree programs (e.g., 医学, dentistry, physical therapy, 生态, evolution, wildlife conservation, fisheries biology, bioinformatics, horticulture and applied plant sciences, and natural resources).

Graduate programs in our department include a coursework-based Master of Arts (M.A.) that can be completed online for increased flexibility for working professionals that is perfect for science educators interested in a biology content-focused graduate degree. We also offer a thesis-based Master of Science (M.S.) 在 Biological Sciences that provides hands-on research experiences in a variety of disciplines that is perfect for preparing students for academic research, continued doctoral education, medical school, and healthcare professions.

Our facilities include laboratories that promote research and hands-on learning in microbiology, cell and tissue culture, phytoplankton, physiology, aquatic toxicology, 基因组学, systematics, evolutionary biology, 分类, 生态, and histology.
